Monthly Stress Relief Workshops
Dr. Williams teaches a monthly personal health class to assist clients in learning ways they can relieve stress and achieve balance in their lives. The majority of clients seek chiropractic care as a result of experiencing pain . Symptoms such as pain occur because of some form of stress.
There are only three kinds of stress. 1-Physical stress is associated with accidents, injury and repetive stress i.e. sitting, standing and sleeping postures. 2-Mental/emotional stress is what most of us usually think of as stress and is often associated finances, relationships or employment. 3-Chemical/nutritional stress is associated with food, air quality, skin agents or our environment.
It is usually a combination of the three kinds of stress that overwhelms a person and results in symptoms. Often one of the three stress areas contribute to the majority of symptoms. We try to identify the major stress areas, patch it up and then fill the body up with positive things to bring balance 1-physically, 2- mentally/emotionally and 3-chemically/nutritionally.
Physical health
The physical health class teaches methods to help your body to function better. Stretches, exercises, posture, and exercise programs. The class also teaches about embryology and the two formation cells. How the spinal cord is made. How the nerves communicate with all body parts.
Chemical-nutritional health
The chemical-nutritional class discusses things that we eat – diet, supplements, nutritional counseling, drinking water, eating fruits and vegetables in season. Fruits clean your body and vegetables build your body. Different things come in season at different times in the year. Fruits help to cleanse and vegetables help build certain organs and tissue based on the season. For example asparagus comes on during the spring, its a great cleanser for most of the body but mainly it gets rids of oxaloaceticic acid that is built up in wintertime. Strawberries are early spring fruit that help the kidneys to be cleansed. Squash is a heavy vegetable that has a lot of carbohydrates in it, some fat as well, a winter type of vegetable that helps build the body.
Mental-emotional health
The mental-emotional class covers positive affirmations, how your posture correlates with a mental/emotional profile, and how feelings have an impact on our health. How to get rid of negative feelings, or change feelings that may be bothering you.
